How often do we return from an adventure excited to share our photos with friends only to realize that the images didn’t come close to the real thing? Or perhaps we forgot to take pictures entirely?
This clinic — instructed by experienced mountain adventure photographer Nikos Schwelm (@nikos.fastlight) — is designed to help runners capture photos that do their adventures justice. The focus is on using your phone to capture the moment. You don’t need a real camera or even a serious interest in photography
You’ll learn how to:
Use terrain, light, and weather to your advantage
Shoot runners in motion without stopping the group
Frame landscapes and athletes for impact and storytelling
Make quick decisions that lead to better images
This clinic blends instructional moments with an easy trail run. There will be lots of opportunities to practice techniques, with hands-on practice and tips that you can apply immediately. Participants will take turns to shoot and to “model.” Ideal for runners, guides, coaches, and anyone who wants to capture better images of their adventures.
